Dit muzikale duo spelen akoestische covers in de genres folk, americana, blues, pop, country, ballads en rock. Het repertoire bevat rustige en stevige nummers wat

voor mooie afwisseling zorgt. De covers zijn o.a. van artiesten zoals Robert Johnson, Eric Clapton, Rory Block, Lady Gaga, Tina Turner, Janis Joplin, Etta James,

Doobie Brothers, Fleetwood Mac, CCR, Carole King, Ry Cooder, Eva Cassidy, Leonard Cohen, Elvis Presley, Rolling Stones, Eagles, Abba, Anouk, Ilse de Lange,

James Taylor, Neil Young en Bonnie Raitt. In de kerstperiode bevat het repertoire bekende Engelse Christmas Carols en Nederlandse kerstnummers.

Syl en Ry kennen elkaar uit een eerder bandje van jaren geleden. In 2024 kwamen ze elkaar weer tegen en dit was niet voor niets. Dit leidde tot een spontane

enthousiaste muzikale samenwerking. Syl zorgt voor de zang en Ry begeleidt op western- en resonator-gitaar, blues-harp en zang.

Private Prison

The songs of Private Prison sound simple, but underneath it rumbles and brews. Subtle tempo changes, unexpected chord progressions and the leading lyrics create a fascinating area of tension. Modern without shying away from 70s guitar parts, the band delivers interesting music, songs that only get better after several listens. Thanks to drummer, percussionist and singer Charel Meulensteen, Private Prison’s live performances are super tight, with room for improvisation. One song sounds compelling, the next song fans out in all directions. Lennart van Kampen colors the music with his guitar, sometimes it leans towards cool rock, then blues and sometimes towards experimental indie. Base player and singer Frank Janssen is the center of the band with his dark lyrics and not always sunny view of the world. In short, indie rock for advanced listeners!
